GUNN’s Business Manager Mark Harris successfully organised and completed a charity cycling event last weekend. The inaugural Pedal the Borders event, in aid of Lingen Davies, took part on Sunday 25th July and saw over 100 riders take part in the 100km cycle ride covering the borders of Shropshire and Mid Wales.
Mark Harris Pedal the Borders: Riders started at Aico in Oswestry and followed the route to Lake Vyrnwy, before heading back to the market town. Working with Adrenaline Sporting Events and Lingen Davies fundraisers, Mark’s vision of a cycling sportive fundraiser came to life! Riders were each asked to raise £100 for the charity and many of these have gone above and beyond their target, with donations still coming in!
The charity is looking forward to announcing the final total raised in the coming weeks – hoping to surpass £20,000 after what has been a tough 18 months for fundraising.
Lizzy Coleman and Helen Knight from Lingen Davies have thanked Mark for his ideas and support in organising Pedal the Borders…they are delighted to have been given the opportunity to work with him to create such an event in aid of their charity and look forward to seeing it grow in 2022.
